I did a ride recently with Atlanta Bicycle Campaign that I'll hopefully be posting about soon. It was great to be out with huge numbers of cyclists -- and the traffic just had to get out of our way or wait for us. Atlanta is an incredibly un-bike-friendly city. Just dangerous. And hence our reputation for having one of the worst commutes in the nation.

Perhaps there are some errands in your week that are less than 5 miles away? Just replacing those can do an amazing amount.

Makes me wish I didn't work so far from home so I could bike to work as well. I admire you for taking it on.

It's good to finally get another post out. This one was a little bit tricky because I had to juggle the mobile video with a voiceover and finally set up the studio and record some video, all while we're in the process of transitioning the editing console. Amy's also been away in London, so it's been tricky.

Ah, but the next video should theoretically be a cake walk by comparison. We just need to look up some statistics.

Thanks, Matt. The going has been slow since Amy's away in Britain on research. For now, it's just me keeping the projects alive and trying to fit in editing Greentime #23 in what time is available. We really hop to be uncluttered soon (especially with the help of some friends) so we can start on some really interesting builds.

Excellent post, and good work overall. Clutter clearing is one of the most satisfying things someone can do! Thanks for the tip about UnClutterer.

dear rhett and amy,
i discovered greentime via no impact man. i really enjoy your site, your videos and your commitment to action. i used the no impact man details to try to stop our junk mail early this year. unfortunately a few catalogs are still sneaking in. your post here got me rolling again. every time i haul in another catalog i head straight to the phone to get my name OFF the list. i'm hoping i'll soon get to the end of this. thanks for your inspiration to stay on the greener track!

Glad you guys are back and I hope you feel better soon ^.^
*looks up a vegan tomato soup recipe*

This is just my two cents on the new ideas for Greentime: I love the idea that you want to talk about better products out there and maybe even non-consuming ideas like this one on Planet Green where you make your own recycling bins/totes (listed below). Book reviews are always great. Maybe you can share some more recipes. I am really starting to love cooking and above all, with no meat. Also, if you ever have wanted to try those Lush products (bar shampoos, soaps, etc) but have not wanted to buy them online because of shipping, we now have them in Macy's @ Dadeland Mall. I've tried the seaweed shampoo one and LOVED it; even use it on my face. Also is vegan and has no packaging for those who've never heard of it before so maybe you'll check it out.

Well now if people start demanding to see more cats again, you can just make a whole background of it while you talk, nice. ^^
One last update, hooray I did get my bike. I looked into buying one on craigslist as you've told me before but I really liked the Citizen folding bike so that's what I got and really enjoy it.

Forever fateful,
Daisy.

Another solution is starting a gardening co-op. If you grow tomatoes on your front porch, and your friend has an apple tree (times about five other friends), you end up with a lot of free produce.

I like the idea of CSA, but my experience was that we received a lot of produce my kids wouldn't touch. I lost a ton of weight living on rutabaga so it wouldn't go to waste, but it wasn't a good long term solution for my family. I hope it works for you, though!
